There are multiple configuration options for the cutting height range, engine, blade, front wheels, or rollers to accommodate all the different grass types and mowing preferences.
The “Standard” versions are recommended for lawns maintained at or below 1.25 inches, while the “High-Cut” versions are recommended for those above 1.25 and up to 2.25 inches.
The Classic series is a continuation of the popular proven “H.O.” models from the past 50 years and continues to be the best-seller. Its popularity is evident by the 1000’s of appearances on social media with positive reviews and recommendations, further solidifying California Trimmer as the premier reel mower brand.
Living in Texas not too many folks cut their lawns like a golf course, but I wanted to. This machine is great for any lawn, it cuts perfectly every pass.
I was very pleased with the quality of the cut compared to the golf course greens walk behind reel mowers I have used all of my career.
Great mower, couldn't be more happy, lifetime product, professional...
This product is perfect easy to use and great features, CUT TO PERFECTION!!!
I own two Mclane reel mowers and two California trimmer reel mowers. The California trimmers are of far better quality and performance. Plus the Trimmers are far easier to lap and adjust the blades when sharpening.
Bought this to take my Bermuda to the next level. Very easy to use and produces a beautiful cut. Couldn't be happier

FAQ
Answers to commonly asked questions.
What is a Reel Mower?
A reel mower is a manually operated lawn mower that cuts grass with a scissor-like action of blades rotating around a cylinder. It's eco-friendly, quiet, and ideal for achieving a precise, clean cut on your lawn.
Why Choose a California Trimmer Reel Mower?
California Trimmer reel mowers are designed with quality, durability, and performance in mind. Our mowers provide a superior cut, promoting healthy lawn growth. They are easy to use, environmentally friendly, and require minimal maintenance.
What Types of Lawns are Best Suited for a California Trimmer Reel Mower?
California Trimmer reel mowers are perfect for small to medium-sized lawns with relatively flat terrain. They are especially effective on grass types that benefit from a precise cut, such as Bermuda, Zoysia, and Kentucky Bluegrass.
How Do I Choose the Right Model?
Consider the size of your lawn, the type of grass, and the level of precision you desire. Our models vary in cutting width and features to suit different needs. For detailed advice, visit our "Model Comparison" page or contact our customer service.
How Do I Maintain My Reel Mower?
Maintaining your California Trimmer reel mower involves regular cleaning, blade sharpening, and checking for loose parts. We recommend sharpening the blades at least once per season and after every 25 hours of use. Detailed maintenance instructions are provided in the user manual.
Can I Adjust the Cutting Height?
Yes, all California Trimmer reel mowers come with adjustable cutting heights. This allows you to customize the grass length to your lawn's specific needs and to adapt to different seasons.
Are Reel Mowers Safe to Use?
Reel mowers are very safe when used correctly. They do not eject debris like rotary mowers can. Always follow the safety instructions in the user manual, such as wearing closed-toe shoes and checking the lawn for stones or sticks before mowing.
